A native of Merrick, New York, Mike Black moved to Pembroke Pines, FL in 2001. In 2006,Mike began coaching ice hockey at Pines Ice Arena and has coached every age level including high school for both Pembroke Pines Charter High and Charles W. Flanagan High School. Mike also served as an assistant to former Pines Ice Arena Hockey Director Marta
Buckley for two years from 2006-2008. Mike has also been involved with youth football serving as both coach and commissioner of thePembroke Pines Optimist Football.
Currently certified as a Level 3 Coachand Level 2 Official, Coach Black joined a talented group of coaches with the South Florida Golden Wolves in the 2009-2010 season under the guidance of the late Robert Kenny, winning a State Championship along the way. At only 24 years of age, Mike Black is just one of several young and energetic coaches added to the Golden Wolves coaching staff over the past few years and plans on
being a part of the organization for years to come.
John Gentile will be entering his tenth season as a Golden Wolves coach. He was also the Head Coach of Archbishop McCarthy with his best friend Rob Kenny. Originally from Waltham, Mass. Where he received Mr. All Waltham for hockey, baseball and basketball. He is a very dedicated and passionate coach, who has received and maintained his USA Hockey level 4 coaching card for 10 years. John served as a coach on the 2009-2010 18AA National finalist team, along with Nick Gardella and Rob Kenny.
Mr. Lynch has been coaching ice hockey for over 20 years. He has been very fortunate to be able to work side by side with some of the best coaches in the business at a young age as an instructor and director for the Huron Hockey Schools. Mr. Lynch also served as Coaching and Program Director for the NJ Devils Youth Hockey Club before becoming the Program Director for the Golden Wolves, where he has served for the past 11 years. In that time he been instrumental in helping change the face of hockey in Florida.
Mr. Lynch has served on the SAHOF Board of Directors since 2003, has been a Head Coach and Evaluator for the USA Player Development Program, and has made five appearances at the USA Hockey National Championships which includes bringing the first National Championship to the Southeast District and the State of Florida.
Dan Reilly will be entering his second season with the South Florida Golden Wolves. He is a USA Hockey Level IV certified coach as well as a Level III official. Dans love for the game and helping kids led him to begin coaching at a young age. When he was a freshman in high school, he began student coaching with the Orlando Jr. Solar Bears youth hockey program. After three years as the Miami Little Toros Assistant program Director, Dan joined the Golden Wolves coaching staff. Dan is also currently the Pines Ice Arena Assistant Hockey Director, helping oversee the rinks run hockey programs and helping with youth clinics and practices.
